Professor of Art History
Brandelyn Andres is a professor of art history at Yavapai College where she teaches courses on art history, art appreciation, two-dimensional design, and popular culture. While she initially trained as a postmodernist, her PhD work focused on the prehistoric Aegean. Her research specializes in women and marriage rituals in the ancient world. She has worked in Cyprus as a research assistant for the Terracotta Sculptural Study, part of the Princeton Archaeological Expedition, and has an extensive background in art gallery administration and management. Brandelyn has published on the craft of macrame, the paintings of artist and filmmaker David Lynch, cultural connections in the Bronze Age, and the use of plants for the maintenance of female sexual and reproductive health in the ancient Mediterranean.
